How it works

One small, friendly step of thinking.

  1. 1Letters replace numbersIn every puzzle, a few starting numbers have been taken out and replaced by letters: A and B, or A, B and C.
  2. 2The Clue CardA clue at the top of the page says how the letters are related, like “A is 5 more than B.” Without it, the puzzle has more than one answer.
  3. 3Solve as usualUse the clue to rule numbers out. Once you know one letter, the clue hands you another, and the puzzle falls into place.

Different letters always hold different numbers, and you never need to guess.
